What I'm still trying to figure out is if VMWare Server is coming out free, why should I keep using and buying upgrades for my copy of VMWare Workstation? I've seen several comparisons on their website between VMWare Server and both GSX and ESX, but what I'd really like to see is a comparison between it and workstation. Greg P.S. If I can start running headless sessions, I'll be very happy. On 2/6/06, Brian Loe <knobdy () gmail com> wrote:
The article (one of them at least) seemed to indicate it would be free beyond the beta period. Of not, all of their betas are generally free downloads (I downloaded workstation 5.0 beta for free anyway) and they all expire. If this is going to be free for good, I would still expect the beta to expire since, "that's how they do it." I downloaded a copy (I already own VMware workstation) and it will expire on 7/13/06. So it won't be free forever it seems. _Albert--------------------------------------------------------------------------- EARN A MASTER OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION ASSURANCE - ONLINE The Norwich University program offers unparalleled Infosec management education and the case study affords you unmatched consulting experience.
