I obviously cannot speak to that since I'm looking also BUT I did speak with a local gentleman a year ago who owned a Forensics consulting company and he had a CISSP. He stated that it was not required but that many in the Forensics field did have this cert. He is also the co-author of a book on Forensics. So take from that what you will.
