I'm also a big fan of CCleaner. No, it won't magically remove all data from teh drive, as we all know it's recoverable. It is, however, a wonderful program for keeping your system up to par by removing all the extra crap Windows (and other programs) leave behind. As for drive encryption, the best way to do is with full drive encryption. Container encryption (like TrueCrypt for example) do not encrypt temp files and such, which can leave sensitive data unprotected. I use SecureStar's DriveCrypt which is a full disk encryption suite that is transparent to the user. It uses a physical token or just a simple passworded key file for authentication. You can read more about it, and download a free trial, here: - http://www.securstar.com/products_drivecryptpp.php Though not cheap ($155.00 USD), it works wonderfully. It even has the ability to have a "hidden OS" that allows you to boot a different operating system by using a different password. This 2nd OS is completely contained in the first and doesn't take up extra space. Fantastic program. -- Peace. ~G On 9/7/05, Alexander Klimov <alserkli () inbox ru> wrote:

I'm sure Sourceforge has one, but I would prefer to use one recommended by others. There are tools to clean afterwards, but o you have to remember to call them each time, o you do lost you cache and history, and o unless you wipe the whole disk you can never be sure that all logically deleted cache files has their content wiped out. It is much easier to prevent than to cure: use firefox and store your profile on an encrypted disk (use, e.g., truecrypt for this). -- Regards, ASK
