Snarg, 1. NMapWin is very old. You have to replaced all of the NmapWin (Bin and Data dirs) files manually with the new version of Nmap. That is why Fyodor removed it from the website. 2. Download the latest Nmap from: http://www.insecure.org/nmap/nmap_download.html 3. If you still have problems there is also a Nmap mailing list: http://seclists.org/#nmap-hackers ____________________________________________ Dave Kleiman, CIFI, CISM, CISSP, ISSMP, MCSE www.SecurityBreachResponse.com -----Original Message----- From: Snarg [mailto:snarg () direcway com] Sent: Saturday, February 12, 2005 02:14 To: security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: NMapWin v1.3.1 Greetings. I am, obviously, new to the world of network and computer security. I have done some reading and am attempting to use NMapWin on my home machine however, I am having a bit of trouble. I can not get it to scan any IP address at all. I am using a LinkSys wireless router and I have DirecWay (sucks, but it's all I have availiable) for my ISP. I can bowse all sites normaly. I can also ping them or run tracert with no problems however, NMap will not find any hosts. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
