Oh...
Actually I'm not the one having the issue.
I just share and contribute into this issue posted.
But, it was really good to discuss with you on this topic.
I always welcome new ideas and changes.
Hope the one posted this could get some help out of this discussion.

BTW, you mentioned Microsoft tool..any specific name?

I may be mistaken but I really was under the impression that you had to have
user intervention to complete the installs and that is something that I
would want to avoid.

Personally for about $1000usd I would have no problem getting for a company
that tool pack.

You could use the Microsoft tool for reporting but it will give errors some
time.

But to my understanding, SUS does well in patching without even giving user
the admin rights.
The only disadvantage is that there is no good reporting tool in SUS.

I believe that in the overall usage of the products and security issues
compromised buy the use of SUS.
The price of LANguard is really quite small in comparison to giving users
local admin rights and the risks that that can cause.

I believe costing is an issue when comes to LANGuard.
SUS is free and it still able to deliver what is required here.
But, not in the aspect of reporting when compared to LANGuard.

My suggestion to you is loose the SUS, go to an application like LANguard
this is very convenient for patch analysis and distribution, among many
other options without the user intervention.

We have a SUS server in place and it is distributing updates just fine.
My question has to do with the installation of these updates.

Most of my users are local admins (I know I do not need the lecture on how
bad that is). To top it off while the updates get downloaded to their
computers, they are not responding to the prompts to install the updates.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the updates installed.
Removing
the local admin rights is not an option right now.
