Back when you were a security nipper playing with netstat and gurgling = at the sight of portscans on your fisher price server, which book did = you use to learn security basics from? I've inherited a 50 node network and am just getting into learning how = to secure it. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
the network security is a very vast field and the google is a your best firend, just start searching for documentation .pdf file, download and start reading them... i would suggest Securing-Optimizing-Linux-The-Ultimate-Solution v3.pdf for a linux based envoirmnet, there are similar books for solaris, windows and freebsd also read up something about firewalls, proxyservers, ids, vpns, and honey pots this should be sufficent for the time being ... best of the luck -aditya ________________________________________________________________________ Delivered using the Free Personal Edition of Mailtraq (www.mailtraq.com) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ethical Hacking at the InfoSec Institute.
