Doesn't CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE also just kill the X-Server so you would get a shell in the context of the user who started X?
When using a desktop manager like xdm, gdm or kdm this would restart the desktop manager. Additionally you can disable that shortcut by adding the following lines to XF86Config: Section "ServerFlags" DontZap EndSection Regards Ansgar Wiechers -- "Those who would give up liberty for a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety, and will lose both." --Benjamin Franklin --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ethical Hacking at the InfoSec Institute.
