Hey Logan, (Wolvie) You could spend hours or days trying to crack that password. The better solution is to just change the password to blank or something you can remember long enough to get into windows and change it. I would have to search high and low to find the freeware Linux boot disk with an application that allows you to change a local password.(I better find it cause it has saved my bacon on several occasions). Anywho another good way to resolve this issue is CIA commander from http://www.datapol.de/en/index.htm it will let you change password, edit the registry and manage files in NTFS a good app but very expensive. I'm sure that there is a free alternative out there. I need to run fixmbr from the Recovery Console on my Windows XP Pro w/ SP1 install and was looking for suggestions of a program to crack/retrieve my Admin password for the computer. Of course, I forgot to use a basic password I know and I didn't write it down so now I am in trouble. I have an Admin control level account on the machine so authority to run a app is no issue. Thanks for the help, otherwise I'll just have to keep guessing, change the password (don't really want to loose the settings) or reload if the password change doesn't take (only seen happen once).
