Hey Greg, What were the adcontroller symptoms/footprint of it being on your system. I'm assumning a process was running, but was there anything else? Thanks. _____ Allan Seyberth Unisys AFRL-VSIO WGM Manager (505) 853-3842 Allan.Seyberth () kirtland af mil -----Original Message----- From: gregh [mailto:chows () ozemail com au] Sent: Sunday, October 05, 2003 6:37 PM To: security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: AdController Discovered this one on my own computer by accident. Not being a person to LIKE having info of any sort randomly shot out of my own machine without me knowing about it, I must admit to some consternation when I found a lot of "AdController" stuff on my machine. I went Googling and it seemed like your average non-nasty Ad stuff of the sort that you would expect to be removed by Spybot and Adaware. So, as I run those two progs regularly, I checked for updates, ran them both and this AdController wasn't picked up. Not being sure what that meant exactly, I decided to check out Spybot and Lavasoft web sites for info. None. I left them emails asking why their progs didn't pick it up, of course, hoping for an answer and admittedly that was only sent within the last 24 hours so I don't expect an answer yet. However, still curious. So does anyone know what AdController does, under what circumstances it runs etc? Seems to have been around a while.....
