The RHN costs money but you can use it in demo mode. They send you a questionnaire every 60 days and if there is high traffic they will bump you off in favor of paying customers but that works fine for us. I use it for all of my 10 or so RedHat servers and don't pay for it.
RedHat is discontinuing support for all OS's other than Enterprise as of April 30, 2004 which is going to suck big time. As of then we'll probably be switching to another flavor of Unix.
Any recommendations? At 10:31 PM 10/30/2003 +0000, caldcv () students fccj org wrote:
Hi,I just installed Redhat 9, and I'm some-what used to using Debian and its wonderful apt-get command, however I noticed Redhat lacked such a capability. However, they had the RHN (Redhat Network) option which costs money. Is there a third-party piece of software that auto-updates a Redhat box? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Forum Systems PRESIDIO: PGP / XML GATEWAY APPLIANCE The Presidio integrates PGP data encryption and XML Web Services security to simplify the management and deployment of PGP and reduce overall PGP costs by up to 80%.
