IM Security

Hello All

I am doing some research on ways to secure our network from IM and IRC traffic.  We were looking at going with a 
business solution like Lotus Sametime but that looks to be very expensive.  A cheaper solution that I am looking at is 
going with a product like Akonix L7, but I am wondering if this product is any good, or if anyone knows of a better 
product to secure IM and IRC traffic on our network.  If anyone has any ideas or products I would greatly appreciate it.
