Hello Lekensteyn and Desowin,

Hope you guys are doing good.

This is Prashant Mathapathi from India. I am working as a Technical Writer
at Gainsight Software Pvt. Ltd.

I am looking forward to participating in Google's Season of the docs for
2020-21 season and found that Wireshark's project ideas are really great
and interesting.

I have worked on Wireshark tool previously in my career. When i was
working for a company called EC-Council 9which specialized in network
security certifications), I was responsible for developing study materials
and lab manuals. During my tenure at EC-Council, I created many hacking
detection lab experiments for students using Wireshark.

To explain one such lab exercise, we created an internal virtual
environment within the Hyper-V tool and performed an attack from one
virtual machine (attacker) to another one (victim). We used the Nmap tool
on the attacker machine to launch the attack. On the victim machine, we
used the Wireshark tool to detect various kinds of attacks like SYN attack,
SYNFIn attack and so on.

I do have hands-on experience with working on Wireshark and I really feel
this experience can add a lot of value during my project.

I have gone through the projects proposed by Wireshark and I really feel I
can work on many of them. I kindly request you guys to provide me an
opportunity to work in the Season of the Docs for Wireshark.

Regards,
Prashant
