I agree, you are able to see the password by using -A, but isn't the same true if you use Wireshark's GUI? Wireshark will start dumpcap with the -A command line argument and voila, ps provides it. If we want to make the password not visible by ps, we should not only do it partially. Any idea?
The solution used by other tools is to either provide a filename containting the password or even username+password or a filehandle to read the authentication data from. Ciao Jörg -- Joerg Mayer <jmayer () loplof de> We are stuck with technology when what we really want is just stuff that works. Some say that should read Microsoft instead of technology. ___________________________________________________________________________ Sent via: Wireshark-dev mailing list <wireshark-dev () wireshark org> Archives: http://www.wireshark.org/lists/wireshark-dev Unsubscribe: https://wireshark.org/mailman/options/wireshark-dev mailto:wireshark-dev-request () wireshark org?subject=unsubscribe
