The filter expression should be derived from the currently selected packet in the GUI. Is it possible to access the currently selected packet in the GUI, and perhaps add the script to a right-click menu on that packet, using a lua script? If not, what would be the best option to add such a feature? One way to do this would be to add support to Lua for adding menu items to any named menu ...
Is it at least possible to get the currently selected packet in lua?
I think you can easily do this sort of thing with tshark by the way, since you can do filtering in tshark and can extract the packet length field, etc.
I think I could also do it by hand in wireshark. But it would be nice, if I could just select a packet, and a script would build a nice filter for related packets and analyze them in a custom way.
