I think a fix was checked in in

http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/viewvc/viewvc.cgi?view=rev&revision=33880

You could try an installer for 1.5(The development version ) from
http://www.wireshark.org/download/automated/win32/

Thanks. I tried
http://www.wireshark.org/download/automated/win32/WiresharkPortable-1.5.0-SVN-33914.paf.exe
in a clean virtual W7 UE machine, extracted, and ran it. However, it
still said it could not find WinPcap (wpcap.dll) installed.

In the previous versions, running the portable version ran WinPcap
installer with the launch of Wireshark. It doesn't do that anymore. :(

I'm having the same problem. I signed up for the mailing list to post
about it yesterday, but accidentally posted from a different email
address than I signed up with. o.0

I had noticed that mine stopped loading winpcap a while ago, but I
hadn't needed it until recently. I might have updated or something and
don't remember. Anyway, my first instinct was to uninstall and
reinstall the newest version (1.2.10), but I had the same results.

It is of course not a critical feature, but it's nice to know that if it
does it automatically I'm not going to forget to remove winpcap.
