Which adapter were you picking in wireshark to capture PPPoE traffic?

PPPoE can generally be captured in two points (on windows XP): 
- on the ethernet card itself, and you will see PPPoE packets
- on the Generic Dialup/VPN adapter, and you will see (fake) ethernet packets plus a bit of signalling (LCP)
