Where are you getting that from?   Work has VoIP & a span port on a
cisco cat6500 worked just fine for me - vlan tags are correct &
packets not showing up at the sniffer match up with voice drop-outs on
the phone as do packets delayed beyond [whatever the jitter buffer is
*] matching up with poor voice quality on the phone.

* it's been a while since I've had to use a sniffer to debug voip
problems - I don't remember what the jitter buffer is now.
