I recently purchased a Linksys 4-port router (BEFSR41) for use with my soon-to-be-growing home network 1) Is the firewall that comes with the router safe enough that I don't
have
to continue using software firewalls (ZoneAlarm)?
One of ZA's main strengths is in allowing you to control what programs on you system are allowed to access the 'net. You cannot do that with a firewall that runs on a seperate device. This feature will allow you to not only block trojans from sending data away from your computer, but it will notify you when they attempt to do so, so you can hunt them down and route them to the great bit-bucket in the sky.
