Is SPARC the only architecture that requires -fPIC?  (On what architectures does the code generated by -fpic and by 
-fPIC differ?)

Does anybody know whether the same problem exists with Sun C and -kpic/-kPIC, and/or whether these are also issues on 
other OSes on SPARC or any other architecture?-
