capturing multiple packets

i am developing a small sniffer using libpcap API's. I want to capture,
process ARP, IP and TCP packets at a time. Right now I am not able find how
to do it using pcap_compile to capture more than one type of packet at a
time. What I am doing now is, creating 3 different threads to capture these
packets. I am sure there should be a way to capture three different types of
packets at a time using pcap. Can anyone help ?
