Hi Guy,
   Thanks for your prompt reply.
I downloaded the file from the following location:

   https://data.caida.org/datasets/passive-2008/equinix-chicago/20080319/

I downloaded the file by simply using the Firefox browser. Can this cause
the problem? I tried to use wget to download the file, using the following
command, but the result was as follows

 wget -np -m https://data.caida.org/datasets/passive-2008/
--14:42:03-- https://data.caida.org/datasets/passive-2008/
           => `data.caida.org/datasets/passive-2008/index.html'
   Resolving data.caida.org... done.
   Connecting to data.caida.org[192.172.226.7]:443... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 401 Authorization Required
   Authorization failed.

   FINISHED --14:42:04--
Downloaded: 0 bytes in 0 files

I also tried to get an authorized access by providing my user-id and
password with the --http-user and --http-password options respectively,
but then wget reported --http-password as an unknown option.

Is it a problem with the file itself,

It's a problem of some sort with the file or the packets in the file - or
*possibly* a bug in tcpdump. We'd have to see the file in order to see what
the problem or bug is; were can that file be downloaded from on the CAIDA
Web site?
