Cenereal questions

Hello. I'm new to libpcap and tcpdump. And i have several questions.1) I'm
doing same term project about network api in linux/unix-like systems.
    And i need some scheme of how libpcap organized, without any details,
just some basic principles.
    Where can i find information like this, or could anybody write some
basic point in sources to watch them?
2) Other question is aoubt the Symbian=) i didn't find ports to symbian. So,
is it real to make a port to symbian?
    If it is not possible, then why?
