I'm looking for some kind of liveCD that I can use to turn some kind
of capable machine into a capture/replay machine.

I don't care about analysis or creativity. I want it to listen on the
network interface, fill all of its ram with packets, and then, when I
push a button, send them again. Ideally, it has a customized NIC driver
that knows how to configure the NIC's recv/xmit rings to be as big as
possible.

It can boot under anything, and I'm willing to pay a fee, but it has to
be software, not hardware. The scenario is that we will have several
machines arranged:

          +---<A>--GbE---<B>---GbE--<C>--+
          | |
          \---------------GbE------------/

The machines have different characteristics. We want to have A and C
beat up on B, for instance, or B and C beat up on A, etc.

I've been pointed to TCPivo. That sounds almost perfect, but it only
claims OC3. I don't care about having trace files bigger than available
ram. The goal is to beat the machine under test into the ground, and in
many cases, we can do this with 200MB of data.
