Hi everyone,

I am creating a sniffer as my project which i hand in next May.
I once met a post in this list similar to this:
"I post my program to have comments and advices:

....
code
...."

I really don't remember exactly what was written, because i was googling, but it was similar to above.
The question is:
Can i post my program (reduced to lines as much as possible) to have comments on it?
I am new to the list and not an experienced C programmer. I don't want to cause inconvenience to anyone in the list by
posting arround 1K to 1.5K lines of code (including comments, which i can get rid of, if wanted). I warn that this will
be the size of this e-mail! Is this acceptable? Can i post like this? Are there any preferences i have to have in mind
before posting it?

Also i have to mention one more thing. At the same time i am sending an e-mail to my supervisor to see if this would be
acceptable by the university, because maybe they think that this is cheating, even if i reference the list, or anything
else against their preferences... So i may finally post only some parts of it, with specific questions.

...If you 're wondering why i am not doing this now, is because i believe that "experienced" eyes will give me the
questions (after seeing what i 've done), in the case i will post most of my code in one e-mail.
In addition i mention that i am comparing the output of my prog with tcpdump's. So i do have particular questions to
ask which i will include in the head of my e-mail.
i.e. Problems displaying properly ip->ip_off value and handling the fragmenting flags in the ip header.

Could you please inform me of what are generally your preferences?

Thank you in advance
