That would be nice, as it could support other capture mechanisms (various types of pods, etc.) although, given that your patch supports building a libpcap that handles both the native capture mechanism and DAG, I wouldn't require it before checking it in. It looks as if you implemented my second suggestion in an earlier thread, i.e. "if the device has a name beginning with 'dag', assume it's a DAG device rather than a network device", which should also work with the remote pcap stuff. Is it the case that DAG devices have names starting with "dag"? - This is the TCPDUMP workers list.
