Snort 2.9.2 vs 2.9.9

Hello guys 

Is there any much difference between version 2.9.3 of snort and version 2.9.9?

Normally there is no differences between version x.x.y and x.x.z in normal software, just a bug fixes. Is it the case 
with snort?
