Snort in AWS

Anyone have a setup where snort runs successfully in AWS, be it host-based or log-based? I know I can't use vtaps, but 
if there is a variation where logs are analyzed or packets on a host, via agents, I'm highly interested in some 
assistance, documentation, etc that would lead me in implementing snort in our vpc.
