snort restart after log file rotation??

does snort have to be restart after log files have been rotated?

specifically the alert, sfportscan preprocessor log file, u2 unified logs, and 
snort.log.xxxxxxxxxx packet capture files

will not restarting snort lead to any problems with these files if they have 
been rotated away?
