A fix was pushed to github.  The regex check was superfluous and was removed.  We couldn't reproduce the problem but 
hopefully it will work for you.  Let us know how it goes.

While building snort with cmake and at:

a crash occurs, however, the build process continues. I can send the crash dump off list if needed.

Other than the specified prerequisites in the manual, are there any additional ones that I am may be missing?

* No.  What version of cmake are you using?  Can you build with auto tools successfully?
