problem about snort 2.9.6 and pr_ring

hi everyone!
    i've been trying to make snort2.9.6(the lastest version you can find on snort.org) work with pf_ring 6.0.2.
    i followed some blogs found on  the google ,i installed pf_ring via rpm downloaded from ntop.com and did some 
pre-work .and the last step is  that to start snort with pf_ring i should go with "snort -daq pfring -dap-dir <path>".
    BUT,i found out that on the manual.snort.org:  "daq <type> ::= pcap | afpacket | dump | nfq | ipq | ipfw" ,there is 
no "pfring" choice.
    The blogs i followed are about snort 2.9.5 or earlier version.i dont know what's going on with snort and pf_ring
    Does anyone know infomation about this？or how can i make snort work with pf_ring?
    any help or link will be appreciated.
