Winsnort on virtual machine

Hi - I installed Winsnort on a virtualbox win7 machine. The installation worked but nothing is logged. The vm has 2 
virtual NIC, Host only and NAT. I was hoping the snort can listen on NAT nic so it can log any attack on the Host 
machine. Does this setup work or anyone has successes on it?
