I'm running snort as:

snort -c /etc/snort/snort.conf -i eth1 -u snort -g snort -D

The snort.conf portions related to this problem are:

output unified2: filename merged.log, limit 128 *_this is the only one 
"output" statement I have_**_configured_*

preprocessor sfportscan: proto  { all } memcap { 10000000 } sense_level 
{ medium } logfile { /var/log/snort/portscan.log }

If it could help I'm facing the same problem with the reputation 
preprocessor: with the default config the merged.log file is not 
updated. Could it be a generalized problem?
