Snort does not detect attacks

From: Michal Šutta <michal.sutta () gmail com>

Hello,

I used Pytbull and IDSwakeup to test Snort if it works but no logs were
recorded. Then I used the rule alert ip any any -> any any ( msg: "packet
detected!"; sid: 1; ). The rule generated logs. I do not know where the
problem is.

snort version:

   > Snort! <*-
   Version 2.9.5.5 GRE (Build 205)

 start command:
 sudo /usr/local/snort/bin/snort -u snort -g snort -c
