I think he is using the 2.8.6.1 install guide to install 2.9.3.

 

OP -  take a look here for 2.9.3 install versions..  Things have changed – namely the source for the schema sql script..

You should probably use 2.9.3 instead of the end-of-lifed 2.8.6.1

        Snort lost it ability to write directly to database from 2.9.3 you have to use unified logging and use Barnyard 
to write to database, coming back to your question you will find the schema in Barnyard tarball.  Hope this helps.
