snort installation

Hi All,

I am in the process of installing snort application on Linux machine
Machine details:
Linux localhost 2.6.18-164.el5 #1 SMP Tue Aug 18 15:51:48 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Initially I started installing the pre-requisites that are needed for snort
Pcre and libdnet,libpcap installation was successful

Installation of barnyard2-1.9 wasn't successful.

*         What impact will barnyard2-1.9 have if I don't install this and go-ahead installing snort?

*         Should I install DAQ modules first or I can install it after installing snort ?
