barnyard2 database and java

hi,

i build an analyzer for barnyard2 in java. my tool can currently read from the barnyard2 database get get all values 
but i have problems how to interpret data_paylod from the data table.
how can i read work with the data_payload values from the data table?
has anybody some example for that?
i need to analyze sip records only.
