Snort reading error

[neethu b <neethu_b_88 () yahoo co in>]

The snort is working correctly in the sniffing mode and packet logging mode.But when working in NIDS mode the snort is 
not collecting packets and nothing get stored in the log file. When we are trying to read the log file one error 
message "ERROR: Can't initialize DAQ pcap (-1) - unknown file format" came.What we can do?Please reply me.
