Timestamp Format in alert_fast Mode

Hello all,

Is there an option within Snort to change the format of the alert_fast output type? The current output format is
MONTH/DAY-HOUR:MIN:SEC.MILIIS as I assume everyone knows. However we're loading this alert format into Splunk for data
visualization and searching and something about this timestamp format triggers a bug in Splunk that causes Snort log
traffic not to be indexed. I realize this is a Splunk issue and not a Snort issue in and of itself. However is there a
reasonable, possibly undocumented, mechanism to change the alert timestamp format - at minimum to include a year field?

All the data continuously generated in your IT infrastructure contains a
definitive record of customers, application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
sense of it. Business sense. IT sense. Common sense.
