Snort - 2.9.0.5 daemon dying

Hi,
I have snort 2.9.0.5 running on a modest two core machine. Snort sees a lot
of my organizational data (at 100Mbits/s). Lately, I have observed that
snort daemon dies afer about 2-3 days and then I have to manually restart
it.
On looking at messgaes, I found following entries

Aug 18 15:14:46 testids kernel: snort[9356] trap divide error
rip:2b432a5395ed rsp:7fff2d1b1410 error:0
Aug 18 15:14:46 testids kernel: device eth0 left promiscuous mode

Aug 23 17:32:27 testids kernel: snort[30267] trap divide error
rip:2b28747bbf6d rsp:7fffbbfa21e0 error:0
Aug 23 17:32:27 testids kernel: device eth0 left promiscuous mode

and so on.
Can somebody tell me why this error occurs? and how can it be resolved?
