Try not using "-vd" in your command line.  See if it will log to Kiwi then.

I am trying to process a stored file (ascii converted to binary) created from a 
packet capture saved to CD and sneaker netted to me. Snort processes the file 
nicely as seen by the finalized output below but my Kiwi syslog is bare as can 
be. Kiwi is configured properly as I can sniff my host NIC then do a test ping 
google.com and get the auth failures show up as alerts in Kiwi. There are 84 
alerts so these should be picked up by Kiwi but they aren't. I am so close to 
getting to the next step, I know the solution is simple but it is not coming to 
me readily. Can someone see what I am missing? The packet capture is from a 
customer network so the HOME network is "any" in the snort.conf. I will list my 
snort.conf at the bottom for reference. Any insight would be greatly 
appreciated.
