ERROR! daq_static library not found

Hi,

Could someone help me with this. I have been trying to compile daq for
snort-2.9.0.2 but have been seeing the same error message.

  ERROR!  Libpcap library version >= 1.0.0  not found.
    Get it from http://www.tcpdump.org
This is the lib I am having for libpcap and they are stored in
/usr/local/lib

libpcap.a
libpcap.so -> libpcap.so.1
libpcap.so.1 -> libpcap.so.1.1.1
libpcap.so.1.1.1

I have also tried ./configure --with-libpcap-libraries=/usr/local/lib

Hope someone can advise on what I can do.
