Base and emailing alerts

Hi all,

I have installed snort 2.8.5.3 with base 1.4.5 as part of my  
requirement I need to be able to receive emails with alerts that we  
consider bad. I can go into base select an alert put in my email  
address and receive this in my email.

what i would like is to be able to have these sent automatically.

Is this possible and if so how

I am far from a Linux pro so please be easy on me
