snortsam failed to work with snort

Hi,
I have installed snort and snortsam (IPS plugin) , and I have configured
snortsam to make iptables rule if any alert detected by the snort ,but
snortsam didn't work well so it didn't generate any iptables rule although
there are alot of alert detected by snort.it seemed I have misconfigured
snortsam.please can you give me a good document to configure snortsam with
snort and how to test my configuration is well? or can you advise me to use
another good IPS plugin with snort and how to use it.
