"winpcap" is the supporting software needed--if what you got was Wincap
(http://www.taborsoft.com/wwizard/) or perhaps controller software for
applications involving a Windcap

If, although you spelled it differently twice and right never, you
actually did install Winpcap, please provide some more specifics on the
error messages, version of winpcap installed, NIC type, XP service pack
level, and such.

I am guetting an error installing snort 2.8.0.1 on windows XP; it tells
me it needs wincap; I installed windcap and still getting error with
snort installation. I force the installation but it did not work.
I need this for my school project.
