Read the snort.conf and the Snort manual. Both of these will help you
tune Snort. It's the best advice for a new starter.

Joel,

I did. I read the snort.conf. I downloaded the PDF manual, printed it an
read it. But something does'nt work and I can't find the cause ...

I'm think I will restart with a very small snort.conf. I'm wondering if I
have incompatible options or something wrong ...

If I run nmap from one of my machines to inspect all my LAN nothing for my
snort sensor (????).

Thanks,

Josep Pujadas
