Snort-snmp stats

Maybe i'm just having a really big brainfart here, so bare with me...

is there anyway to measure stats via snmp for snort instead of
outputting the stats file and using a script to RRD it from there?

(ie: cacti snort stats via snmp)?

snort-snmp only seems to let me trap alerts, not the flow stats that I
get from the output stats file...
