Re[2]: Problem with socket

 it`s very strange:
unknown variable --with-user ?????? in mysql-logfile

and the parametr doesn`t help, when i try login
(/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql -u root -p )he told me:
can`t connect through /tmp/mysql.sock
