Help in snort

Hi,
  I am using supress option in threshold.conf file to supress some signatures. is there any criteria that only limited 
number of signatures can be supressed? bcz i am supressing lot of signatures in this file and still i am getting that 
signatures. especially signatures like shellcode x86 sid 651, 648 like that etc. kindly suggest on this.
