I agree, that would be the easiest thing to do, but I was just looking
for a way to coordinate all of the information that I've got currently
set up on my monitoring server to include this information as well.

Jeez, Lance...It seems it would merely be more simple to have the host
notify your boss via e-mail when/if snort or barnyard or both are NOT
running...but who am I to deny your boss a mailbox full of pesky
notification messages if that is his wont.
