Fairly often. The tarball itself is rebuilt from CVS every day, rules are 
committed less frequently than that most of the time. Usually it's about a 
1-3 week span between updates, but the updates are generally a function of 
when a good new rule comes about.

bleedingsnort.com : the rules are less tested, but frequently updated and 
interesting to play with.
